How to fill a PDF form without Adobe Acrobat
Most fillable PDFs use a standard called AcroForm. Any tool that can read that standard can fill the form, including a browser extension that never uploads your file.
Why you don't need Adobe Acrobat or an account
Adobe Acrobat is not the only software that understands fillable PDFs. AcroForm, the field format used by most administrative, HR and government PDFs, is an open part of the PDF specification. A browser extension can detect those fields directly in the tab where the PDF is already open, without converting the file or sending it anywhere.

How to fill a PDF form in your browser, step by step
- Open the PDF in a browser tab (Chrome or Firefox), the way you already do to read it.

- Click a field in the list to jump to it, or type directly on the highlighted field in the page.
- Save or print the completed PDF from your browser's own PDF viewer, as usual.

Does PDF Autofill upload my document anywhere?
No. The extension reads and fills the PDF locally, in the browser tab where it is already open. Nothing is sent to a server.
Does it work on a scanned PDF?
No. PDF Autofill fills real AcroForm fields; it does not do OCR on a flattened, scanned image. If the PDF has no fillable fields, there is nothing for it to detect.
Chrome and Firefox, or just one browser?
Both. The same extension, with the same local-only behaviour, is published for Chrome and Firefox.
Do I need to create an account?
No account for the free version. The Pro version only needs a licence key bought once on Gumroad, no login.
